[OP-ED]:DACA Opponents Are American Dream Killers

Among the persons that provided poignant testimonials on positive benefits from DACA during the recent ceremony in Philadelphia’s City Hall commemorating the fifth anniversary of that fair-minded initiative instituted by former President Obama were two persons from countries that few ever connect with the controversy around undocumented immigrants in the United States.

Defensores de los inmigrantes, líderes comunitarios y "soñadores" destacaron hoy el cambio que la Acción Diferida para los Llegados en la Infancia (DACA) supuso para 800.000 personas y anunciaron marchas mañana para recalcar que "ha funcionado", cuando se cumple su quinto aniversario.

In the context of expansion of organized crime in Mexico, migrants have become easy targets, as they are more visible, easily identifiable as migrants and, in many cases, they walk on a predetermined route. At least 400 immigrants were killed on their way from Central America to the US in 2015.

Terry McAuliffe, gobernador demócrata de Virginia, ha utilizado su posición para perdonar a la inmigrante salvadoreña por haber manejado sin licencia en 2013, con la esperanza de lograr impedir su deportación. Dos días después, el ICE rechazó su apelación.
